Mr. Dilip K, 27 Yrs Old
Having Intellectual Disability, Job Internship At Thomson Reuters
The man who can see straight in the eyes of the disability and say “you can’t disable me!!!”. Dilip K is a young, energetic, friendly, full-of-life person, someone you could not stop adoring. He joined Seva-in-Action in 2018 for skill development training and he trained well in Housekeeping, Food & Beverages, and Retail domains. In 2020, SiA started online computer training with his mother to explore different skills during the Covid situation.
SiA got an internship opportunity for Dilip at Thomson Reuters for 3 months. He learned about work ethics, quality of work, time management, work tolerance, and improved communication. Later, SiA provided a great opportunity for Dilip to work as a paid intern at Thomson Reuters as a Data Validator – Global Trade Management in December 2020.
After joining, he improved his concentration and showed interest in quality work, learning new technology and tasks. His behavior also improved and has been observed by his mother as a job coach at home. She mentioned that Dilip understood the quality of work, time management, login time, and extra hours required if a task was not finished. Feedback from TR employees is positive: he promptly replies to emails and completes his assigned tasks. He is very friendly with his co-workers and continues learning new tasks.
Dilip’s journey shows that if we provide the opportunity, it can truly change a life
