About Sanjana
Sanjana, a 22-year-old young woman with Down Syndrome, began her journey with Seva-in-Action (SiA) in 2018 by enrolling in the Pre-Vocational Training Program.

When she first joined, Sanjana had limited communication and social skills. She often preferred to sit alone and avoided group activities. The trainers at SiA observed her closely and discovered that she had a natural love for music and dance. Recognizing her interest, they began to design individualized activities around what she enjoyed most.

Discovering Her Passion
Through activities like passing messages, speaking on the mic, and group participation, Sanjana gradually opened up. She began to interact with peers, make friends, and participate in group sessions. Her confidence started to shine as she found joy in performing.

Her hidden talent came alive when she took part in various cultural programs and competitions, including a Fashion Show in 2019 at Krishanaiah Chetty Jewelers Auditorium. She also performed in group dance programs at several company events, charming everyone with her enthusiasm and rhythm.

Over time, Sanjana began to manage her daily tasks independently and even make her own choices. From speaking just a few words, she progressed to singing her favorite songs with lyrics, reflecting her emotional and social growth.
Her parents and sisters were overjoyed to witness the remarkable transformation she experienced during her journey with SiA.

Resilience During the Pandemic
The pandemic brought new challenges for everyone, and Sanjana was no exception. In the early stages of lockdown, she struggled to stay engaged at home. Later, due to family circumstances, her parents decided to enroll her in a residential setup.

Amazingly, Sanjana adapted quickly and positively to her new surroundings. Thanks to her pre-vocational skill training, she became more independent, responsible, and socially active. She made new friends, managed her routine, and began enjoying life in her new environment.

A Journey of Growth and Joy
Sanjana’s progress is a testament to what personalized training, patience, and inclusive education can achieve. Her story reflects how consistent encouragement and opportunity can help individuals with disabilities find joy, purpose, and belonging.

As her parents proudly say —
“The pre-vocational training at Seva-in-Action helped Sanjana adapt beautifully to her new environment and grow into a confident young woman.”
